The drive against Bangladeshis and Rohingiyas living illegally in India has gained momentum as five more migrants in Dehradun were detained during the past 24 hours.
Uttarakhand and several other states have begun the process of identifying people from Bangladesh and other nations living illegally as part of the exercise to deport them under the new central government’s guidelines, top police officials said on Wednesday.
Five Bangaldeshis including four women who were detained in Dehradun were living on forged documents, police said. “In a joint operation by Dehradun Police and Special Task Force (STF), five Bangladeshi nationals who had entered the country illegally and were living in Dehradun have been detained since Tuesday,” a top police official said.
Police said that during the interrogation, sufficient evidence was found that all five were Bangladeshi nationals. These Bangladeshis were working as labourers in Dehradun for a long time.
Under the new guidelines issued by the Government of India, these Bangladeshis will be deported, the police said.
A verification campaign is continuously being conducted to identify infiltrators in Uttarakhand. On Saturday also, the police had caught six Bangladeshi infiltrators living illegally in Dehradun and Haridwar.
Elsewhere in other states, the police has started verification drive in Odisha and Maharashtra.
This drive against immigrants should have taken long back, when it was noticed remarkable shift in demographic ratio of Uttrakhand. Earlier also I mentioned that Pehlgam terror attack and rape case of Nainital should not be seen as isolated incidents. These attacks are deliberately well planned to jeopardize India’s economic growth.
Results are now visible, yesterday there was statement from hotel association that almost 80% fall is there in tourist flows in both Nainital and Mussoorie. This is happening in peak season when earlier it was difficult to find hotel accommodation in summer season.
Time has come to deport all illegal immigrants not only from Uttrakhand but also from India. USA has already set an example of deporting illegal immigrants.
If there identity is not verified, till then all free ration, medical facilities should be stopped. There Aadhar card, voter card and Ayshman card should be siezed.
We are finding so many mini Bangladesh within India. Recent examples are Ahmedabad, Delhi and Maharashtra.
Let Uttrakhand should take a lead in clearing all illegal immigrants from holy state.
