As part of the move, state Housing Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar on Saturday conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing and proposed development projects across Nainital.

During the visit, the secretary reviewed the progress of several lake redevelopment and beautification initiatives. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth ₹25.67 crore has been prepared for the rejuvenation of Bhimtal Lake. The secretary also reviewed plans for the development of the Kamaltal area, where an open shopping plaza, pedestrian bridge, walkways, parking and landscaping facilities are proposed to create a new tourist attraction.

In Bhawali, construction of a multi-level parking facility and commercial complex at Lakdi Taal is nearing completion, with 96 per cent of the work already finished. The project will provide parking for 124 vehicles and accommodate around 40 shops.
